The Andhra Pradesh High Court has rejected a petition that challenged the constitutionality of the minimum age requirement of 17 for taking the NEET exam, a national eligibility entrance test. The panel, led by Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice R Raghunandan Rao, noted that the High Court had previously upheld the constitutionality of the rule, which is provided in Rule 4(1) of the Medical Council of India Regulations. The petitioner argued that the rule violated Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Constitution, but the Court cited previous judgments, including Master Alli Sai Deepak v. Government of Andhra Pradesh, to reject the current appeal.
