In the context of driving under the influence of alcohol, if your blood contains more than 30mg. of alcohol per 100ml. , the police can arrest you without a warrant under the Motor Vehicle Act 1988. This is regulated by Section 5 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, which states that driving or being in charge of a vehicle with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit is an offense. Additionally, Section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 empowers constables to arrest individuals without a warrant if there is reasonable cause to suspect that the person has been committing an offense under this act.
