The Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Anjaria’s appointment as Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on February 7. The Central government subsequently issued a notification on Friday confirming the appointment of Justice NV Anjaria, a judge from the Gujarat High Court, to the position.
Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, announced this development.
Justice Anjaria is slated to assume the role of Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on February 24, succeeding the current Chief Justice, PS Dinesh Kumar, upon his retirement.
Having been sworn in as a judge of the Gujarat High Court on November 21, 2011, Justice Anjaria has extensive experience advising on various legal matters including labor and service, company law, civil law, and constitutional law prior to his elevation.
