In order to address any questions police authorities may have when recording cases under the new criminal rules, a 10-digit mobile number is helpful. The “Investigation Support Centre,” located in the Telangana police headquarters, is a resource that law enforcement agencies throughout the state can use to ask any questions about the recently enacted legislation. Since the first day of the new laws, thirty questions have been answered by the special number for police authorities.
Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta stated, “It is a call center model and a team of 10-15 domain experts, including senior police officials trained on the new criminal laws – Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, legal professionals and forensics, is available 24×7 to help police officials with the smooth transition.”Queries related to which law is applicable, especially in cases involving multiple sections, have been coming in,” he said.
